IEAC And ABED - The Brazilian Distance Education Association: Strengthening Global Educational Landscape
IEAC are delighted to announce that we have signed an MOU with ABED – The Brazilian Distance Education Association. This MOU is aimed at working towards a strategic alliance for the purpose of forging and building international education relationships between Distance Education institutions based in South and Latin America and institutions in Europe and worldwide.
In co-operation with ABED, IEAC UK will develop and deliver a series of workshops and training virtual sessions that can be delivered to ABED member institutions free of charge. These events will be associated with Online Quality Assurance, Accreditation, QS stars, World University Rankings, micro credentials and Research Capacity building.
Both IEAC and ABED will conduct joint promotion of training, workshop and seminar events to their member institutions and to encourage membership and generate consultancy opportunities for the benefit of both parties. Where appropriate and possible, IEAC and ABED will collaborate in relation to: development of; benchmark of qualifications and study programs; the identification of fraudulent awarding bodies or/and accrediting agencies worldwide; the sharing of good practices in On Line education, assisting members of ABED with gaining QS stars, where appropriate developing and running joint education conferences to facilitate international education partnership opportunities for members;
ABED is a member of the Brazilian Society for the Development of Science - SBPC and is a member of many international institutions including the International Council for Open and Distance Education – ICDE. ABED also releases the "Brazilian Journal of Open and Distance Learning", a trilingual page dedicated to scholars of the online distance learning community (ODL). This is an exciting opportunity for IEAC and its accredited institutions and is the first of many collaborative projects IEAC will be developing over the next few months.
ABED is a member of the Brazilian Society for the Development of Science - SBPC and is affiliated to international institutions including the International Council for Open and Distance Education – ICDE.
ABED's page on Internet releases the "Brazilian Journal of Open and Distance Learning", a trilingual page dedicated to scholars of the online distance learning community (ODL), texts and work on ODL, events calendar, news clipping of major newspapers, links to ODL and addresses for distance learning courses. It is constantly updated, always focused on the members and people who are looking to get involved with this area of pedagogical knowledge (www.abed.org.br).
In order to guarantee that both students and teachers gain from a rich, varied educational ecosystem, IEAC and ABED are dedicated to fostering close ties between institutions. This partnership will raise the bar, increase the legitimacy of distant learning, and provide opportunities for students all around the world.
